Adult Services

At Compassionate Minds, we provide comprehensive psychological support for adults and couples at every stage of life. Our clinicians are highly experienced in using evidence-based therapies to address a wide range of challenges, offering both clinical expertise and a deep commitment to care. Whether you are navigating stress, relationship struggles, parenting pressures, or major life transitions, therapy provides a safe and supportive space to build resilience, gain clarity, and move towards greater wellbeing.

Our Therapists

Our clinicians working in adult therapy bring a wide breadth of expertise and experience. They are not only highly skilled therapists but also compassionate individuals who care deeply about the people they work with. This genuine care allows them to attune closely with clients, supporting greater reflection, insight, and growth. Their combined knowledge spans multiple therapeutic approaches, enabling them to provide personalised support that honours the unique circumstances of each individual and couple.

Types of Support

Individual and Couples Therapy

Our therapists work with both individuals and couples through life’s challenges, from periods of stress and anxiety to times of significant overwhelm or crisis. Every therapeutic relationship begins with listening: understanding your unique story, your difficulties, and your goals. From there, therapy is tailored in a way that feels practical, compassionate, and relevant to your life, helping you to move forward with renewed perspective and strength.

Why Therapy Helps

Therapy offers a private, safe, and non-judgemental space to explore your inner world and your relationships with others. Life events, social pressures, and personal history shape the way we think and feel, at times leaving us feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected. Therapy provides the opportunity to process these experiences, to better understand patterns of thought and behaviour, and to discover new ways of coping. For couples, therapy can illuminate relationship dynamics, open space for communication, and rebuild connection. For individuals, it can strengthen self-awareness and self-compassion, empowering more confident choices and a clearer sense of direction.

When to Seek Therapy?

Therapy is not only for times of acute difficulty. Many people and couples come because they wish to deepen their self-understanding, improve relationships, or feel more confident in how they navigate everyday challenges. Therapy can be just as valuable for building resilience, self-awareness, and emotional balance as it is for addressing specific psychological difficulties.

Specific Challenges Supported Through Therapy

Our therapists provide support for a wide range of issues, including:

  • Low mood, depression, and feelings of hopelessness
  • Anxiety, panic, overthinking, phobias, and fears
  • Feelings of shame, guilt, self-criticism, and low self-image
  • Relationship struggles, conflict, and managing challenging personalities
  • Transitions, change, loss, and grief
  • Parenting challenges at all ages and stages, including the “empty nest” period
  • Trauma, adverse life events, and PTSD
  • Affirmation and support for neurodiverse experiences
  • Hormonal changes, pregnancy, and menopause
  • Feeling lost or seeking direction in life
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), intrusive thoughts, or compulsive behaviours

Group Work and Programmes

Working in a group offers an experience that is both rich and transformative. Sharing experiences in a safe environment, and receiving compassion and validation from others, can be uniquely de-shaming and empowering. Groups create opportunities for growth that cannot always be achieved in individual therapy alone.

At Compassionate Minds, we design and deliver programmes that are evidence-based, interactive, and focused on long-term change. These programmes support adults in building lasting skills for resilience and wellbeing.

For details of specific programmes currently on offer, please visit our Workshops and Programmes page or email info@compassionateminds.ae for current availability.

Discussion and Support Groups

We also believe strongly in the power of connection and peer support. Our discussion and support groups provide safe, reflective spaces to share experiences, gain new perspectives, and practice practical tools for change. Both online and in-person groups are available each month.

Children's Services

At Compassionate Minds, we place great value on the wellbeing of young people, treating each child and teenager with respect, empathy, and care. Children need sensitivity, nurture, and playfulness to thrive. Our primary goal is always to help them feel safe and understood, so they can begin to explore their thoughts and feelings with curiosity rather than fear. Whether attending for a cognitive assessment to better understand their learning profile, or seeking therapeutic support for the challenges of childhood, every child is welcomed with compassion and supported by a team deeply attuned to their needs.

Our Children’s Team

Our Children’s Services are led by Dr. Amy Bailey, a UK-trained Clinical Psychologist with over two decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Amy is one of the most experienced psychologists in the UAE in providing psychological assessments, and she not only supports families directly but also oversees the delivery and reporting of assessments by other psychologists in the clinic, ensuring ethical rigour and clinical validity.

She is complemented by a team of highly skilled psychologists specialising in work with young people, each specifically trained in therapies and assessments for children and adolescents. Together, the team fosters understanding, builds resilience, and enhances development.

Types of Support

Therapy for Children & Teenagers

Our therapists support children and young people through both everyday worries and more complex difficulties. Each clinician is trained in age-appropriate methods, adapting therapy so it feels engaging, relevant, and effective. Where helpful, we also work with families and schools to create a wraparound system of care.

Why Therapy Helps

Therapy gives young people the chance to understand themselves and their relationships with family, friends, and the wider world. Academic pressures, friendship difficulties, and changes at home or school can often feel overwhelming. Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to process feelings, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills.

When to Seek Therapy

Therapy is not only for times of crisis. It can also help children and teenagers build confidence, learn strategies to manage stress, and approach challenges in healthier ways. With the right support, young people feel more secure, more capable, and better able to navigate the ups and downs of growing up.

Common Reasons Children & Teenagers Come to Therapy

  • Anxiety, including panic, overthinking, or social worries
  • Performance pressures such as exam stress, test anxiety, or sports and music performance anxiety
  • Perfectionism and fear of mistakes
  • Low mood, sadness, depression, or hopelessness
  • Friendship or peer relationship difficulties, including bullying or loneliness
  • Family stress, transitions, or bereavement
  • Coping with change, such as moving schools, countries, or adjusting to new environments
  • Low confidence, fragile self-esteem, or identity struggles
  • Understanding and supporting neurodiverse experiences
  • Unhealthy or harmful habits
  • Building resilience and emotional regulation

Parent Support and Training

We provide guidance to parents on effective strategies, communication, and behavioural management to support their child’s development. In addition to one-to-one support, we run parenting workshops, discussion groups, and online sessions. (See our Workshops and Programmes section for more information.)

Family Therapy

Sometimes challenges affect the whole family system. Family therapy creates a space to build understanding, strengthen compassion, improve communication, and resolve conflicts, helping families move forward together.

School and Educational Support

With parental consent, we liaise with schools to provide educational planning, recommend accommodations, and advocate for the child’s needs. This collaborative approach helps ensure children are understood and supported in their learning environment.

Psychoeducational Assessments

We provide comprehensive evaluations covering intellectual functioning, academic attainment, attention and focus, emotional wellbeing, behavioural challenges, and social-communication skills. These assessments help children, parents, and teachers understand how a child thinks, why they might behave in certain ways, what excites them, and what may be difficult or overwhelming. Just as importantly, assessments highlight a child’s strengths, helping families and schools respond with greater acceptance and compassion, while building on areas of potential.

Workshops & Group Programs

At Compassionate Minds, we offer a diverse range of evidence-based workshops and group programmes designed to support families, individuals, schools, and professionals. Whether you are a parent seeking guidance, an individual navigating life transitions, or part of a team wanting to strengthen wellbeing, our workshops provide a safe, interactive, and practical environment for growth.

Parenting Support

Our parenting services draw on Compassion Focused Parenting and the Triple P Positive Parenting Programme, as well as psychological research and knowledge. We combine practical strategies with a compassion-based, psychobiological understanding of human behaviour. Parents can access:

  • One-to-one guidance for managing conflict, behavioural struggles, and emotional regulation difficulties.
  • Group workshops that help parents navigate challenges such as risky behaviours in adolescence, emotional outbursts, and discipline strategies. Sessions are collaborative and interactive, designed to foster secure attachment and positive family dynamics.
  • Free online and in-person workshops aimed at strengthening the wider parenting community and building networks of support.

Discussion and Support Groups

We believe in the power of connection and learning together. Our discussion and support groups create a safe space for shared experiences, reflection, and practical tools:

  • ADHD Discussion Forum – Monthly online sessions for parents and teachers to build understanding, share strategies, and celebrate strengths.
  • Separation and Divorce Groups – Support for individuals navigating the emotional and practical challenges of family change, offering tools for resilience and a sense of community.
  • Transition Groups – For people experiencing significant life changes, such as relocation, career shifts, or family transitions, providing reflection, coping skills, and peer support.

Wellbeing Workshops

Our wellbeing workshops are designed for a wide variety of audiences – parents, schools, professionals, and community members. They are practical, engaging, and rooted in psychological science, covering topics such as:

  • Supporting the anxious brain
  • Working with stress and developing resilience
  • Sleep and its impact on mood and performance
  • Emotional wellbeing and regulation
  • Compassion in everyday life
  • Perfectionism and performance anxiety

Workshops can be run in person at our clinic, delivered on-site to organisations and schools, or hosted online for accessibility.

Group Work Programmes for Transformation and Enlightenment

Working in a group offers an experience that is rich and enlightening. Sharing experiences and gaining validation and compassion from others can be uniquely de-shaming and empowering, fostering growth in a space of safety and non-judgement.

At Compassionate Minds, we design and deliver programmes that support people through life’s challenges and help them build lasting skills for wellbeing. Each programme is evidence-based, interactive, and focused on sustainable change.

Our current programmes include:

  • Separation and Divorce (6 weeks): Navigate the emotional, practical, and relational challenges of separation with tools for resilience, confidence, and moving forward.
  • Breaking Free from Unhelpful Habits (8 weeks): Learn to “unhook” from destructive cycles, understand the psychology behind them, and build healthier responses.
  • Finding Direction and Meaning (4 weeks): Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), explore values, strengthen psychological flexibility, and build a purposeful life.
  • Compassionate Mind Training (6 weeks): Develop a kinder internal framework, reduce shame, and strengthen compassion to guide wise and supportive action.

Schools

At Compassionate Minds, we partner with schools to create safe, supportive, and resilient learning environments. Our workshops and talks can be delivered on-site, online, or at our clinic, and are tailored to the distinct needs of school communities:

  • Teachers and Support Staff – Wellbeing workshops designed to manage stress, prevent burnout, and build resilience, alongside training in understanding harmful behaviours and using de-escalation strategies to reduce risk.
  • Parents and Caregivers – Practical talks and workshops to strengthen parenting skills, manage behavioural challenges, and support children’s emotional wellbeing.
  • Child Protection Teams – Specialist training to manage complex and high-risk behaviours, including crisis response, safeguarding, and building compassionate yet robust approaches to safety.
  • School Counsellors – Professional development and reflective practice opportunities (see Professional Support and Supervision section below), focusing on growth, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

Through this multi-layered approach, we help schools support every part of their community, staff, parents, and students, while embedding practices that nurture safeness, resilience, and compassion across the whole system.

Professional Support and Supervision

For practitioners, we provide opportunities to grow and reflect in a supportive community:

  • Supervision and professional development for counsellors and psychologists, fostering reflective and growth-focused practice, offered individually or in groups.
  • Collaboration gatherings and workshops for mental health professionals, exploring themes such as striving, productivity anxiety, compassion fatigue, and professional resilience.

Support for Aspiring Psychologists

At Compassionate Minds, we are passionate about supporting the next generation of psychologists. Whether you are still at school exploring psychology as a career, or studying at university and beginning your professional journey, our programmes are designed to help you grow in skills and confidence.

We offer:

  • Life skills workshops for young people preparing for university, including resilience, stress management, and self-reflection.
  • Therapeutic skills training in the fundamentals of therapy, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Person-Centred approaches, with opportunities for experiential practice.
  • Early-career development through feedback, mentorship, and skills-based workshops that prepare students for placements and clinical roles.

What makes us unique is the chance to learn in a professional clinical setting, with both small group workshops for deeper learning and larger sessions to widen access. This blend of academic insight and hands-on experience gives aspiring psychologists a strong foundation for their future studies and careers.

Professional & Corporate Services

At Compassionate Minds, we bring evidence-based psychology into the workplace to support organisations, leaders, and teams in creating environments where people can flourish. Our professional services are designed for businesses who want to foster wellbeing, strengthen resilience, and harness the benefits of compassionate leadership.

Compassionate Leadership Series

Our signature Compassionate Leadership Series is designed specifically for managers and leaders at different levels:

Workshops for new and middle managers focus on cultivating safeness in the workplace, a foundation that optimises growth, honesty, and collaboration. Participants learn practical strategies to build trust, reduce threat-based responses, and strengthen team cohesion.

Senior leadership workshops go deeper, providing an opportunity to analyse the culture and risks within teams. Leaders are supported to identify barriers to productivity, address unhealthy competition, and create climates that sustain openness, resilience, and long-term performance.

We also explore the psychology of competitive drives, helping leaders and teams understand how to manage ambition in ways that enhance collaboration rather than undermine it. These programmes are rooted in proven psychological theory and practice, equipping leaders with tools that are both practical and sustainable.

In addition, individual team members can receive coaching and support.

Wellbeing Workshops for Teams

We offer a wide range of wellbeing workshops, tailored to different audiences within your organisation. Backed by what works methodology and grounded in research, our workshops cover topics such as:

  • Stress and resilience – understanding the psychology of stress, building mental flexibility, and learning evidence-based strategies to prevent burnout
  • Sleep and performance – exploring how rest impacts memory, concentration, and emotional balance, with practical approaches to improve sleep quality
  • Emotional wellbeing – using Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to strengthen emotional regulation and compassion for self and others
  • Compassion in action – recognising the importance of compassion within teams and organisations, and how it fosters healthier, more collaborative workplace cultures

All workshops are interactive, engaging, and tailored to your needs. They can be delivered in person or online, and adapted to different timeframes and organisational priorities.
